At LUS, our van conversions have become increasingly popular and a major part of what we do. In our last update, we highlighted our DC-5150 System in a fully converted Ford Transit Van. Now, we’re proud to share our most recent conversion in a new Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van.
We’ve been trying for some time to keep one of these builds on-site for customers to see in person, but each time we finish one, it’s sold before we have a chance to put it on display. This latest project, starting from a 2023 Mercedes Sprinter Cargo Van, is no exception. Our client from New Mexico wanted to upgrade their Aries camera van to an LUS system for improved serviceability and to future proof their Water Well Camera System. While we continue to service Aries units, their parts are no longer in production — making an upgrade to an LUS System a good choice for long-term performance and reliability.

Built for Performance. Designed for Precision.
The 2023 Mercedes Sprinter Camera Van stands out as a premium platform for our Water Well Inspection Systems — combining rugged capability with refined design. Equipped with All-Wheel Drive, this van delivers traction and control in any terrain or weather, making it ideal for field operations in remote or challenging environments. The Parking Package with a 360° camera provides complete visibility around the vehicle, ensuring safety and precision when maneuvering tight job sites. Inside, the Comfort, Convenience, and Premium Packages create an ergonomic, operator-friendly workspace with upgraded seating, intuitive controls, and enhanced cabin features. The High Roof design offers ample headroom and storage flexibility, while mounting rails allow easy installation of roof racks or additional equipment. Finished in Tenorite Gray Metallic with LED exterior lighting and a rear bumper step for easier access, this van blends functionality, style, and reliability.

Precision Engineering Behind Every Conversion
Every LUS vehicle conversion begins with precision engineering. Our team develops a detailed CAD diagram and 3D model of each build, mapping out equipment placement, power systems, and workspace flow. The interior is carefully measured and documented to ensure perfect fitment and integration. Customers review the full 3D layout before production, seeing exactly how their system will look and function. The result is a professionally engineered vehicle—built for performance, precision, and lasting reliability.

Where Innovation Meets Craftsmanship
We perform a complete vehicle conversion that transforms a standard cargo van into a fully equipped Water Well Inspection System. Each build features full insulation, custom paneling, wall and ceiling installation, precision trim work, durable flooring, and integrated electrical systems. Marine-grade plywood flooring topped with abrasion-resistant vinyl provides exceptional durability and easy maintenance, while extreme-weather insulation ensures reliable performance and operator comfort in any climate. Our technicians install both 12VDC and 120VAC electrical systems to power all onboard components efficiently. A reinforced bulkhead wall is framed and fitted to securely mount the CU-500 Control Unit, window, and dual-monitor package. For added functionality, a bench seat with removable cushions is fabricated to provide both comfortable seating and convenient storage in the viewing area. Finally, the flooring structure beneath the vehicle is reinforced to safely support the weight and operational of the winch and boom.

Built. Finished. Field-Ready.
When the build is complete, it becomes a fully integrated, professional-grade inspection system—just like the finished models shown below. Every detail reflects the quality, precision, and craftsmanship that define LUS conversions.
