DW-2000: Extended Depth, Flexible Setup, Proven Performance
For more than 50 years, Laval Underground Surveys has equipped vehicles and trailers with professional water well camera systems, working closely with customers to understand the demands of their unique applications. The DW-2000 was developed from that experience—offering the capability of a deep-well system in a more compact and cost-conscious format.
The DW system is designed for operations that require greater depth than a portable system without the size and complexity of a full deep-well unit. Available with 1,500 or 2,000 feet of Kevlar-reinforced cable, it bridges the gap between portable systems like the R-Cam and SC series and larger systems such as the DC5150. It can be permanently mounted in a vehicle or trailer, or installed on a skid for transport between job sites, giving crews flexibility in how they deploy and operate their equipment.
At the core of the system is a motorized winch with a ½ HP motor, variable speed control, and a level wind with integrated encoder for smooth cable management and accurate depth measurement. The DW-2000 is paired with LUS’s R-Cam 360° dual-view camera, allowing operators to independently adjust side-view and down-view lighting for clear visibility in a range of well conditions, including larger diameter wells up to 16 inches.
Our proprietary quick-disconnect cablehead simplifies maintenance and storage, while also enabling compatibility across our range of portable systems, including the SC350/500 and R-CAM XLT/TLE. This interchangeability allows teams to standardize equipment and adapt to different inspection needs without duplicating camera investments.
By delivering up to 2,000 feet of reach without the need for hydraulics or heavy electrical demands, the DW system provides a practical alternative for many applications. Its compact footprint, combined with mounting flexibility and a heavy-duty tripod for challenging conditions, makes it suitable for a wide range of industries—including construction, drilling, engineering, and municipal water systems.
The DW-2000 is built for teams that need dependable performance, extended depth, and a system that can adapt to how and where they work.
