When it comes to borehole inspections, reliability in the field matters just as much as image quality. That’s why the R-Cam 1000 series has become one of our most trusted camera systems for water well and geotechnical professionals. What many people don’t realize is that the R-Cam 1000 is available in two configurations: the R-Cam 1000 XLT and the R-Cam 1000 TLE. Both are built on the same proven camera platform, but the TLE takes things a step further for operators who want added flexibility and cable control.

One of the worst things that can happen during a survey is a camera breaking inside a well and taking on water. We build our systems to handle extreme depth and pressure, but the reality is the field is unpredictable. Bumps, drops, tight access points, and hard impacts happen. When a camera floods, it’s easy to feel the panic set in. The good news is there are steps you can take right away to limit damage and give the unit the best chance at recovery.

As we approach the close of another busy year, we’re proud to highlight one of our final custom builds of 2025—a fully converted Water Well Inspection Trailer—engineered and built from the ground up by Laval Underground Surveys. This project represents everything we focus on: durability, performance, operator comfort, and real-world practicality.

With the holidays just around the corner, here at Laval Underground Surveys, we have certainly been busy. In addition to a high volume of service and repair requests, our team is currently building five van and trailer systems scheduled for delivery by mid-December. The holiday season is always a busy time in our factory—but we wouldn’t have it any other way! As many of you know, Groundwater Week is coming up December 9-11 in beautiful New Orleans.
